The Sanctuary also has a number of magnet schools options in the area, including Palisades Park Elementary, a brand new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) school opened in the Fall of 2014, with several Sanctuary children in attendance. Magnet schools are operated by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, with curricula that are either theme-based to meet student interest or founded on a particular educational approach.

Where is The Sanctuary located?

The Sanctuary is located in Charlotte, North Carolina on Lake Wylie, 14 miles from Uptown Charlotte. The Lodge address is 10450 Wildlife Road, Charlotte, NC

Are there homes for sale in the community?

Yes, however the Sanctuary at Lake Wylie HOA is not involved in any home or lot sales. All of the lots and homes in the Sanctuary are privately owned. We strongly encourage all prospective buyers to work with a realtor if interested in purchasing a lot or home in the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary HOA cannot recommend a realtor. 

Are the roads in the Sanctuary public or private?
Both. All roads in the Sanctuary are private except for Wildlife Road, Island Point Road, and Flying Eagle Lane.
What do the HOA dues pay for?
The assessments go towards the maintenance and service of the Common Open Spaces & Amenity Center; which include: Landscaping 305 acres of COS, 22 miles of private trails, 15 acre amenity center, kayaks/canoes, docks, 5 tennis courts, full court basketball, 2 pickleball courts, full-time staff, 24/7 gym, pool & splash pad.
How many homes are in the Sanctuary?

The Sanctuary is comprised of 187 lots, 100 of which currently have homes on them. All vacant lots are privately owned. The developer does not own any lots.

How big are the lots?
Lot sizes range from 2-12 acres.
Can I build a custom home?

Yes! The Sanctuary is comprised of all custom built homes. We have a list of approved builders and design guidelines for the building process. If you would like to learn more about our building approval process please email [email protected] or call 704-504-8158.

What are the hours of the Lodge?
The Lodge is available 24/7 to residents. The Lodge staff is available on the following days/times:
Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 2pm-4pm
Tuesday: 9am-12pm
Is the Amenity center Pavilion able to be booked for events?
Residents are able to rent our pavilion, lodge, and pool area for a small fee. We do not rent out the facility to non-owners.
